Does your writing have personality?

Hi there!

I’m not Danielle, but I’m a remarkable simulation. Her shorter, incredibly-stacked, understudy. My name is Lauren.

Obviously you’re a reader with fine taste. I mean, you’re here, aren’t you? And chances are you’ve been here before! So what keeps you coming back again and again? I’d be willing to bet it’s because this Blog has personality.

Getting to Know You, Getting to Know All About Youuuuuuuuu…

That’s right, this Blog has personality. Danielle’s personality. And, for this post, my personality.

So why is personality important to a Blog? To your business?

Well, by showing a little bit of our personalities in our writing, you get to know us before actually contacting us. You get a good feel for how we communicate, what our core marketing beliefs are, and you get a good feel for what we could do for you. If you’re a lurker, you most likely feel like you know us before you even write us that first initial e-mail!

And, heck, hopefully you’re starting to like us! (You are, aren’t you? Oh, I do hope so!).

You’re Not Here to Be Likable, You’re Here to Work!

Lauren and Robert show their personality!

Letting your personality show through, and hopefully showing how likable you are, is about more than just showing off and winning new friends! It’s also great for your business.

Think of it this way: How many people do you do business with that you hate?

If you’re like I am, you probably have a “go to” guy/gal for just about every service you can imagine. And you probably like them, don’t you! (Well, don’t you??). And that’s the way it should be. And if there’s someone in your batch of “go to” people that you’re not that fond of…you’re probably shopping around for someone “better.” Right? (Don’t worry, I won’t tell).

Now think about putting “personality” into your marketing and sales copy. Your customers will get to know you/your product, they’ll get to like you, and suddenly you’re their “go to” guy/gal for whatever it is you’re selling.

Now that’s what I call a win-win!

Don’t be afraid to show us who you really are.
